Counts without draining the battery
Uses your phone's own hardware step counter, the same sensor the system uses, and falls back to motion detection on devices that lack one.
Android & iPhone
Simply Step Tracker counts your steps, traces your walks and draws the route you took — and writes every bit of it to a database on your own device. There is no account to make, no cloud to sync to, and no analytics watching you use it.
A pedometer first, and then the things a pedometer should have grown into: a record of where you walked, an honest read on whether you are walking more or less, and a goal that reflects you rather than a round number someone picked.
Uses your phone's own hardware step counter, the same sensor the system uses, and falls back to motion detection on devices that lack one.
Record a walk and it traces the route, measures the distance properly and shows it on a map with your pace and splits.
"You're walking 12% less than last month" — the comparison stated outright, instead of two averages left for you to subtract.
Suggests a target from what you actually walk rather than a flat 8,000. It suggests; you decide. Your streak is never moved behind your back.
A daily streak that survives one bad day, and badges that mark real milestones rather than handing out a trophy for opening the app.
Log the rest of it in one place. Optional, and stored beside everything else — on your phone.
Optional two-way sync with your phone's own health store, so steps from a watch fill the gaps and other apps you trust can read your walks.
Today's progress on your home screen, updated as you walk, without opening anything.
Turn a good day — or a whole week — into a card worth posting. Rendered on your device; it goes only where you send it.
Built natively for each platform — Jetpack Compose on Android, SwiftUI on iPhone — rather than one web view wearing two costumes.
This is the part most step trackers are quiet about, so here it is in full.
Not "we don't sell your data" — there is nowhere for your steps to arrive. The app has no backend and no account system, so your history cannot be uploaded, requested or leaked.
No Firebase, no Crashlytics, no third-party analytics SDK of any kind. We do not know how many screens you opened, because nothing is counting.
Ads on the free version, the app store when you buy Pro, and the map service when you open a route map. Each is listed in the policy with exactly what it can see.
Every feature is already yours. Pro does one thing: it takes the ads away — and the ad code with them, so no ad request is made at all.
Around twenty-five cents a month. It funds the app so the free version does not have to be made worse to make a point.
No feature is locked behind it. No badge you cannot earn, no report you cannot open, no export you cannot run.
Your entitlement is stored on the device. A flight, a dead signal or a store outage does not put the ads back.
